2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: With your permission, we access your device's GPS location to provide accurate local weather forecasts, sunrise/sunset times, and location-specific Panchang calculations. We use both your current GPS location (for weather and daily timings) and your registered birth location (for Vedic birth chart calculations). Location data is not stored on our servers.
• Calendar Access: With your permission, we can add festival dates and muhurat timings to your device calendar. We only write events you explicitly choose to add. We do not read or access your existing calendar data.
• Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous usage data (endpoints accessed, timestamps) to improve app performance. No personally identifiable information is linked to these analytics.

• We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or financial information.
• We do not collect contacts, photos, or any other device data.

• Provide accurate weather data and auspicious/inauspicious time periods for your location.
• Generate AI-powered personalized horoscope insights using Google Gemini.
• Improve app performance through anonymous usage analytics.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your name and date of birth are stored locally on your device only using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your phone.
• Location data is used in real-time for weather and astronomical calculations and is not stored on our servers.
• Anonymous usage analytics are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database.
• All data transmission between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenWeatherMap: To fetch real-time weather data for your location. Their privacy policy is available at openweathermap.org/privacy-policy.
• Google Gemini AI: To generate personalized horoscope insights. No personally identifiable information is sent — only astrological data points. Google's privacy policy applies at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Your Rights

• Access & Deletion: Since personal data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it anytime by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.
• Location Permission: You can revoke location access anytime through your device settings. The app will still function but weather data won't be available.
• Opt Out: You can stop using the app at any time. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

Kaalchakra is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
